Field(s) of Research:
  • Hydrography
Research Description:
The Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) is charged with the task of measuring and describing the physical features of Canada's navigable waters and their marginal land areas and making this information available in the most suitable form for use by navigators to enable safe and efficient navigation. We provide hydrographic information necessary to ensure safe and efficient navigation in Canadian waters while increasing knowledge of these waters for their development, management and sovereignty. These services are provided in a cost effective, efficient and responsible manner. As Manager, Nautical Publications and Distribution my current focus is on the development of processes and polices regarding the recently re-acquired CHS responsibility for the licencing and distribution of CHS digital data and products, developing policies regarding the use of CHS IP and negotiating licence agreement with other government organizations, domestically and internationally, as well as with world-wide third-party private sector interests.
