Research Description:
Dorothee Kieser heads the Fish Pathology Program for the Aquaculture Division. This program provides an advisory and consultative service on fish health matters to the Salmonid Enhancement hatcheries by operating a fish diagnostic laboratory. In addition, Dorothee Kieser is a member of the Federal-Provincial Fish Transplant Committee whose task it is to adjudicate on applications to import live finfish and shellfish into British Columbia or to transfer live fish within the province. As a Local Fish Health Officer, she is also involved in developing quality control programs for the national Fish Health Protection Regulations.
