Research Description:
Dr. Gregory has been a research scientist at DFO since 2000. He has conducted research on fish nursery habitats for over 30 years, including 18 years investigating marine fish nursery habitat in marine coastal waters of Newfoundland. Bob investigates population-habitat linkages, habitat-mediated juvenile fish survival and recruitment, fish movement and habitat associations, cumulative effects of anthropogenic environmental change and compensation mitigation of habitat change. Bob is an Adjunct Professor of Biology at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he has co-supervised and mentored 24 graduate students in the past decade, all of whom now work on aquatic ecology issues in various university, federal and provincial government research facilities, or in industry. He is the Director of the Centre of Expertise for Aquatic Habitat Research (CAHR).
