Offshore Oil & Gas

Meteorological and oceanographic data collected by the oil and gas industry or its contractors during Canadian offshore hydrocarbon exploration between 1979 and 1993.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada has also established the Centre for Offshore Oil, Gas and Energy Research (COOGER) to coordinate the department’s nation-wide research into the environmental and oceanographic impacts of offshore petroleum exploration, production and transportation.
